ESD definition

What does ESD mean?
Electrostatic sensitive devices (ESDs) are individual components, integrated circuits, modules or
devices that may be damaged by either electrostatic fields or electrostatic discharge.

Electrostatic charging of individuals

Any person who is not conductively connected to the electrical potential of the environment can
accumulate an electrostatic charge.
