Replacing the fuses

Defective fuses may only be replaced with fuses of the same type and same rating.
The bypassing of fuses, for example with a wire, is not allowed.
If the malfunction can not be remedied by replacing the fuse, or if the fuse blows again when
starting, contact skilled personnel.

Open the engine hood (page 89).

Open the fuse box (1) and replace the defective fuse.
The spare fuses (1) are positioned near the battery.
The fuse layout is shown in the next section.

Replace the defective main fuse (1) analogously, which is
positioned near the oil dipstick.
