System Requirements
The following sections describe the host system requirements for the 7226 Model 1U3 Storage Enclosure.
Hardware and software requirements for IBM® Power® System models are listed below:

Software requirements for IBM System x models are:
7226 supports AIX® and Linux®/Red Hat, and IBMi operating systems
Supports 7226 SAS, USB, and FC Tape (DAT160, HHLTO5, HHLTO6, HHLTO7, HHLTO8, and HHLTO9), RDX, and DVD-
RAM drive features
Note: DAT160 and HHLTO5 tape drives have been withdrawn from marketing, but may still be migrated from a POWER
legacy System/adapters.

Drive Firmware for 7226 Drive Features:
IBM maintains the latest levels of System Storage tape drive firmware documentation on the Internet. Utilize the Fix
Central download portal by accessing the following website:
http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral
To find firmware downloads for DAT160, HHLTO5, HHLTO6, DVD-RAM, and RDX, select the "Select Product" tab and
then the following pull-down categories:
"Product Group" - select "POWER®".
"Product" - select the POWER® Machine type and model for your configuration. Click "Continue".
Select "Media" and the page will move down to show the list of firmware for each drive feature by name (DAT160,
HHLTO5, HHLTO6, DVD-RAM, RDX).
To find firmware downloads for HHLTO7, HHLTO8, and HHLTO9, select the "Select Product" tab and then the following
pull-down categories:
"Product Group" - select "System Storage".
"Select from System Storage" - select "Tape systems".
"Select from Tape systems" - select "Tape drives".
"Select from Tape drives" - select "IBM 7226 Multimedia Storage Enclosure". Click "Continue" and the next
screen will list the firmware for the HHLTO7, HHLTO8, and HHLTO9 tape drives.
Note: The device driver "Atape" is required on POWER® systems running AIX for the following tape drives:
