INSTALLING THE WIRE REEL AND BRAKE
ADJUSTMENT.
1. Place reel on hub and turn the brake setting
screw (refer to fig. 2) until gentle force is
required to uncoil the reel. Use an 11/16 in
wrench.
2. Open the rollers on the drive unit.
3. Repoint the wire and cut off the tip.
4. Thread the wire over the rollers then insert it
in the torch guide sheath.
5. Close and re-tighten rollers on the wire.
6. Remove the nozzle and the contact tube at the
end of the torch.
7. Press the trigger until the wire emerges.
8. Replace the contact tube and the nozzle.
9. Withdraw wire to check roller pressure.
Tighten the clamp fixture sufficiently to pre-
vent any slip. Cut off surplus wire and close
the waste door.

CONNECTING THE UNIT AND PREPARING TO
WELD
1. Open the gas pressure reducing tap and adjust
the flow rate according to the welding posi-
tion.
2. Position the earth clamp on the object to be
welded, at a point free of rust, paint or plastic.

The low settings of the power on switch
should be used for materials of low thickness.
-
Remember that each position of the power on
switch corresponds to one wire advance
speed, which can be adjusted with the help of
an appropriate potentiometer.
