3.0 OPERATION

3.1

CONTROLS ON FRONT PANEL

1. SPEED OF WIRE ADVANCE
Use this control to adjust the speed of wire
advance. The greater the welding intensity, the
greater the wire speed required (see label
affixed to unit).
2. POWER SELECTOR
The greater the thickness of the material to be
welded, the higher the power selector must be set
(see label affixed to unit).
Do not operate the selector whil ewelding.

4.0 MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING

DISCONNECT THE POWERSUPPLY
BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY MAINTENANCE
WORK.
Dust should be carefully removed from the inside
of the unit on a regular basis (about every 5 - 6
months), using a spray gun (after removing the
side panels). BE CAREFUL NOT TO TWIST THE
JET OF THE TORCH TO AVOID DAMAGING IT.
The equipment should be serviced more fre-
quently when working in dirty or dusty conditions.
4.1
MAINTENANCE OF THE TORCH
NOZZLE: spray regularly with an anti-bonding
product and clean the inside of the nozzle.
To replace the contact tube:
1. Remove the gas nozzle.
2. Unscrew the contact tube.
3. Press the trigger: after a few seconds, wire
emerges from the tip of the torch.
OPERATION
The same switch is used to ignite and extin-
guish the unit.

4. Insert the wire into the new contact tube and
screw the tube on to the torch.
5. Replace the gas nozzle.
6. Cut off surplus wire.
DIFFUSER: the gas output openings should
always be kept clean and clear of obstruction.
To change the diffuser:
1. Remove the gas nozzle.
2. Unscrew the contact tube.
3. Unscrew the diffuser and replace it.
4. Screw the contact tube back on.
5. Replace the gas nozzle.
