SECTION 3 - HANDLING, STORAGE, AND INSTALLATION
• EAML used on Outdoor air handlers usually to
measure outside air. This can be provided with
one or two pairs of positive (+ or High) and nega-
tive (- or Low) pressure tube connections. Con-
nect (+) & (-) respectively to the (+) & (-) ports
of the transducer(s). Wiring & transducer are not
provided unless factory packaged controls were
selected.
BACK DRAFT DAMPERS FOR DUAL
FANS AND FAN ARRAYS
The counterbalance is locked into place for shipping as
shown in Figure 113 on page 71. Before startup, the
counterbalance will have to be released. To do this,
loosen the set screws and slide the counterbalance off
the end of the shaft. Flip the counterbalance and slide
it back on the shaft. Rotate the counterbalance above
the damper as shown in Figure 114 on page 71,
and then tighten the set screws. The counterbalance
should be free to rotate.

INSTALLING THE PIPE CHASE

Install the pipe chase before connecting the piping.
Use the following instructions to install the pipe chase.

Tools and Materials

• Screw gun
• Complete set of mechanic's hand tools
If the AHU does not have base rails, the shipped loose
package includes:
• Self-drilling Screws with Gasket (P/N 021-30530-
052),
• Caulking (P/N 013-03317-040)
• Neoprene Gasket - 2 in x 3/16 in (P/N 028-11880-
010).
If the AHU has base rails, the shipped loose package
includes:
• Pipe Chase Base Rail Covers (P/N 013-03317-
010)
• Bolts - 3/8 in-16 x 1-1/2 in (P/N 021-01499-000)
• Lock Washers (P/N 021-01155-000).
Never use silicone caulk/sealant or
caulk/sealant containing silicone in or
on any air handling equipment.

Preparing Pipe Chase for Installation

The top and bottom flanges are inside
of the pipe chase. Separate cover
angles are used on external vertical
seams.
1. Before installing the pipe chase, remove any self-
drilling screws from the top and bottom raceway
that may interfere with installing the pipe chase or
trim angles.
2. Pinpoint the exact location to attach the pipe
chase.
3. Make sure enough space will remain to apply pipe
fittings with insulation on the inside of the pipe

chase.
4. The pipe chase height should align with the AHU
height.
