  • Page 12 Installation and Operation Installation Overview Install and set up the Cable Cubby enclosure as follows: Verify the surface cutout dimensions of the TLP 350CV. See "Obtain Cutout Dimensions" on page 2-3. To obtain the most recent cutout dimensions, visit the Extron Web site at www.extron.com.
  • Page 13 Obtain Cutout Dimensions Determine the optimum location for the TLP 350CV keeping in mind the size of the enclosure that will be below the table and also the ease of operation for a user. Cutout dimensions are available as a router guide, printed dimensions for a CNC wood router and a cutout template.
  • Page 14 Installation and Operation, cont’d Cutting the Table After verifying and checking dimensions and preparing the proper template, cut a hole in the surface of the furniture where the enclosure will be installed. The preferred and recommended method for preparing the table for square Cable Cubby models is to use the appropriate Extron routing template and a router.
  • Page 15: Preparing.the.table.with.a.router

Preparing the Table with a Router Prepare the table with a router as follows: The routing templates for the various Cable Cubby models are not interchangeable. If the wrong template is used, the hole will be the incorrect size. If a larger template than required is used, the cut will result in gaps in the table surface on either side of the enclosure. Ensure that only the wooden strips on the routing template contact the furniture. Failure to do so may mar the furniture. Mark the desired mounting location on the tabletop or other installation surface. Place the mounting template assembly on the table, centered on the mounting location.

Installation and Operation, cont’d Installing the Cables and AAPs Each TLP 350CV includes pass-through AAPs and a power module. A wide range of passive AAPs are also available allowing direct connection of cables from the top and underneath the AAPs. Depending upon the configuration, the enclosure can support up to nine (9) AAPs.
  • Page 17: Aap.assembly

AAP Assembly Each AAP shelf assembly consists of a set of shelf brackets and a number of cable pass-through AAPs. Figure 2-4 — Shelf brackets with pass-through AAPs (shown on right)  and passive AAPs (on left) The easiest way to install the cables and AAPs is to populate the shelf brackets with pass-through and/or passive AAP plates outside the Cubby as shown, then install the populated AAP shelf assembly into the enclosure.
  • Page 18: Install.pass-Through.aap.cables

Installation and Operation, cont’d Install Pass-through AAP Cables Pass-through AAP's must have the cable installed as they are being mounted on the shelf brackets. Two cutouts in each cable pass-through AAP loosely guide the cables through the Cable Cubby. Each channel is padded with a grommet to prevent wear.
  • Page 19: Installing.passive.aaps

Place the next pass-through AAP onto the shelf such that the channel opening is accessible and the opposite side is up against the AAP previously installed. The rear of the new AAP now secures the channel opening of the previously installed one.
