WARNINGS FOR ORDINARY USE
OF THE MECHANISM
5.1 - "Obstacle detection" function
This function is automatically activated when the limit switches are programmed.
The function is triggered when the movement raising or lowering the rolling shutter
is suddenly blocked by an obstacle (an object, a person, etc.) or by severe friction
due to ice formation, expansion of the materials or other causes. In these cases, the
motor immediately stops the current operation. In short, the function determines the
intensity of the force the motor must apply to the obstacle to release the shutter. This
function cannot be disabled. If an obstacle is detected during a descent manoeuvre,
the shutter reverses its movement and covers 50% of its total path.
5.2 - Maximum continuous work cycle
In general, the motors in the "Era" line were designed for residential use and there-
fore for discontinuous use. They guarantee a maximum operating time of 4 min-
utes and in cases of overheating (e.g. caused by continuous prolonged operation)
a "thermal protector" for safety intervenes to cut out the power supply, restoring it
when the temperature returns to normal.
5.3 - "Automatic limit switch update" function
This function verifies the position of the limit switches every 120 manoeuvres and
impacts against the limit switch. The impact allows the function to measure the new
limit switch values and updating the existing ones, thereby recovering any slack that
may have occurred throughout time due to wear and/or thermal shock to which the
slats and motor springs are subjected. Constant updating of the heights allows the
rolling shutter to reach the limit switches with maximum precision. This function is
not activated when the stroke of the shutter lasts for less than 2.5 seconds and does
not reach the limit switch.
5.4 - "Brief inversion during automatic limit switch
update" function
With this function, during the limit switch update manoeuvres, when the new limit is
found, the automation stops gently and completes a brief inversion manoeuvre. This
helps to preserve the structure as much as possible and avoid overly stressing it.
5.5 - Recalling the first partial position
Pressing the "t" key twice allows for recalling a default memorised partial position,
located roughly 10 cm from the low limit switch.
5.6 - "Go To Position" (only using a transmitter
equipped with a slider)
The slider commands the blind with the "briefly pressed" operating mode:
– if the slider is pressed at the 0% point, the system takes the shutter to the low limit
switch "1";
– if the slider is pressed at the 100% point, the system takes the shutter to the high
limit switch "0";
– if instead the slider is pressed at a point between 1% and 99%, the system brings
the shutter to the partial position "H" relative to the pressed value.
5.7 - Commanding partial opening/closing of the
rolling shutter (height "H")
In general, to command partial rolling shutter opening/closing, press the key (on the
transmitter) associated with the desired partial height while performing the last step
in procedure 4.9.
What to if...
(troubleshooting guide)
q When a command is sent, the motor does not start:
This may happen if the rolling shutter is close to a limit switch or has identified an
obstacle at this point. In this case you must move the shutter a little way in the
opposite direction and then give the desired command again.
Disposal of the product
As in installation operations, disposal operations must be performed by qualified
personnel at the end of the product's lifespan.
The product is made of various types of materials: some of them may be recycled,
while others cannot. Find out about recycling and disposal systems in use in your
area for this product category. Attention! – Some parts of the product may contain
polluting or hazardous substances which, if released to the environment, may cause
serious damage to the environment or to human health. As indicated by
the symbol appearing here, the product may not be disposed of with
other household wastes. Separate the waste into categories for dispos-
al, according to the methods established by current legislation in your
area, or return the product to the retailer when purchasing a new version. Attention!
– local regulations may incur heavy fines if the product is disposed of inappropriately.
The product's packaging materials must be disposed of in full compliance with local
regulations.
Technical specifications
