5.E. Sanitizing
You can Sanitize the instrument from the 'Home' screen (Figure 59) by touching the Sanitize button. Make
sure all samples have been removed from the instrument and all spills have been cleaned prior to initiating
the UV sanitization protocol. You will be presented with a sanitization checklist (Figure 60) that informs you
on how long the UV sanitization will take. It will also ask you to confi rm that no samples or eluates are
present in the instrument prior to running Sanitization. After you confi rm, the Start button is enabled.
Touch the Start button to Start UV sanitization.

After Sanitization is completed, you will see a fl ashing indicator:
Touch the indicator to view the Sanitization report.
Note: UV radiation is useful in decontamination due to its ability to inactivate biological molecules.
UV treatment is not a substitute for cleaning. Using the UV Sanitization protocol alone may not provide
suffi cient decontamination.
