7.1 GENERAL
As you proceed in reading this section, it will be easy
to see that the maintenance program for the air com-
pressor is quite minimal. The Supervisor II monitors
the status of the air filter, fluid filter, and separator ele-
ments. When maintenance to these devices is re-
quired, the Supervisor II will display the appropriate
maintenance message and flash the location LED on
the graphics map as a visual reminder.
!
DO NOT remove caps, plugs, and/or other compo-
nents when compressor is running or pressurized.
Stop compressor and relieve all internal pressure
before doing so.
7.2 DAILY OPERATION
Following a routine start, observe the various Super-
visor II displays to check that normal readings are be-
ing made -- previous records are very helpful in deter-
mining the normalcy of the measurements. These
observations should be made during all expected
modes of operation (i.e. full load, no--load, different
line pressures, cooling water temperatures, etc.).
During the initial start--up or servicing of the package,
fluid may have to be added to the sump vessel to re-
store to an adequate level. Frequent fluid additions to
maintain said level would be indicative of excessive
fluid consumption, and should be investigated -- see

probable cause and remedy.
7.3 MAINTENANCE AFTER INITIAL 50 HOURS OF
OPERATION
After the initial 50 hours of operation, a few mainte-
nance requirements are needed to rid the system of
any foreign materials. Perform the following mainte-
nance operations to prevent unnecessary problems.
1. Clean the return line strainers.
2. Clean the return line orifices.
3. Change the fluid filter element.
7.4 MAINTENANCE EVERY 1000 HOURS OF OPERA-
TION
1. Clean the return line strainers.
2. Change the fluid filter element.
7.5 PARTS REPLACEMENT AND ADJUSTMENT
PROCEDURES
Please familiarize yourself with the safety guidelines
offered in Section 1 of this manual before attempting
any maintenance on the package.

AIR FILTER MAINTENANCE
Ref er t o
F igur e 7 --
1. A ir f ilt er m aint enanc e s hould be
performed when the corresponding maintenance
message is displayed by the Supervisor II -- this cor-
responds to a pressure loss condition across the unit
of 15 in. of water column. Your filter assembly in-
cludes a single element -- the optional heavy--duty fil-
ter adds a secondary element.
ELEMENT REMOVAL
1. Clean the exterior of the filter housing.
2. Remove the cover assembly by loosening the
wingnut securing it.
3. Loosen the corresponding nut and sealing washer
assemblies and pull the element(s) from the hous-
ing.
4. Clean the interior of the housing with a damp cloth.
DO NOT blow dirt out with compressed air.
ELEMENT INSPECTION
1. Place a bright light inside the element to inspect for
damage or leak holes. Concentrated light will
shine through the element and disclose any holes.
2. Inspect all gaskets and gasket contact surfaces of
the housing. Should faulty gaskets be evident,
correct the condition immediately.
3. If the clean element is to be stored for later use, it
must be stored in a clean container.
