Problem
Valves/Node All four valves on a single
node are not pulsing and
the VRI main controller is
communicating with the
node
Valve operation is re-
versed. (Valves are off
when they should be on)
GPS VRI main controller recog-
nizes the GPS node but
the GPS position cannot
be found

Possible Cause
Faulty node
Faulty valve cable con-
nections
Faulty valve plug terminal
connections
Wiring reversed in valve
or node panel
GPS is not correctly
plugged in
GPS DIP switch is not set
Field Map plan does not
have the GPS node set
Faulty GPS and/or Tor-
nado board

Corrective Action
Replace the node
Check to make sure the valve cable
connections on the node PCB are cor-
rect
Disconnect the valve plug and check
that the terminals are all connected
Check wire terminals on valve and in
node panel
Check the GPS cable connection on the
Tornado board
Make sure the "GPS" DIP switch on the
node board is turned "ON". The system
will need to be restarted before any DIP
switch setting changes will take effect
Open the Field Map plan and expand
the irrigation system file to see the
nodes. Select the GPS node and check
to see that it is listed as a "feature
member".
If all other actions have not corrected
the problem, the GPS and/or Tornado
board may be faulty. Replace the GPS
and Tornado boards with new ones.
