Troubleshooting

Problem
Node Nodes not connecting (i.e.
the "Node Connected" box
does not count up when
the irrigator safety line is
powered up)
Node not connecting
Valve A single valve is not puls-
ing but the valve is ticking
A single valve is not puls-
ing and the valve is not
ticking

Possible Cause
Node power supply is not
properly connected
Power cable incorrectly
connected to the node
DIP switch setting are
incorrect
MAC address is incorrect
Node driver chip is defec-
tive
The sprinkler nozzle is
blocked
The valve is blocked
Ruptured diaphragm.
Spring inside stainless
steel solenoid sleeve
interferes with the plunger
seating. Therefore, the
magnet does not engage.
The valve plunger is
jammed
Valve solenoid is open
Faulty valve plug terminal
connection
Loose wiring or wire not
connected

Corrective Action
Check the node power supply con-
nection according to the "Installing the
Power Supply" section of this manual
Check the node power supply con-
nection according to the "Installing the
Power Supply" section of this manual
All DIP switches should be set the same
on every PCB. Except for the GPS node
which should have the GPS setting (DIP
switch "GPS") to "ON"
Open the node enclosure and record
the MAC address written on the PCB.
Make sure both lines of the MAC ad-
dress on the sticker are programmed in.
Open FieldMAP and compare the MAC
address of the faulty node to what's
displayed for the same node location in
Field Map . If different, update the plan
and upload it to the VRI control.
Node driver chip is defective, replace
node board. The new MAC address of
the replacement board will need to be
programmed in the VRI main control.
Check for a blocked sprinkler head
Disassemble the valve and remove any
matter that may be blocking the valve
Replace the diaphragm.
Check for obstructions blocking the
spring and remove any debris.
Replace the spring.
Disassemble the valve and check to see
if the plunger is jammed.
Replace solenoid
Disassemble the valve plug and check
that the terminals are all connected
Check wire terminals on the valve and
node board
