6.3 Charging process
Start charging with Giro-e function
Requirement:
The Giro-e function is enabled on the device. (Configuration via web interface or backend)
Additional information about Giro-e is available here (Page 128).
Proceed as follows to start charging:
1. Check if the required charging point is ready for operation: The status LED must light up
green.
2. You will see the following instruction on the display: "Press the button below the display and
follow the instructions".
3. Use the left or right pushbutton to select the desired charging point.
4. Place your debit card in front of the card reader until it has been verified. This may take a
few seconds.
The color of the card icon changes to green after successful verification.
5. The current price and the SEPA ID (pUID) are now visible in the display. For example, EINZUG
AA11111T6w
Write down the SEPA ID (pUID) to check the posting to your account. Additional information
about the SEPA ID (pUID) and Giro-e is available here (Page 128).
6. Confirm the prices by verifying the debit card once again. Place your debit card once again in
front of the card reader until it has been verified. This may take a few seconds.
The color of the card icon changes to green after successful verification.
7. Depending on the configuration (configuration via web interface or backend) of your device,
the software will now check your authorization to charge a vehicle.
8. The charging station now unlocks the cover lock.
9. Plug the plug connector of the charging cable into the power outlet of the charging station.
Make sure that the charging cable and the connecting cables are not damp or dirty. Follow
also the instructions of the vehicle manufacturer.
10.The communication connection to the vehicle is established. The status indicator changes
from yellow to blue. This process can take some time depending on the backend connection
speed and reaction speed.
11.The device locks the plug into the socket.
12.After successfully locking the connector, the charging process starts automatically and the
status indicator pulsates blue. The vehicle is now being charged. The connectors are still
protected against unauthorized removal.
13.The display informs about the current charging status.
14.The vehicle is fully charged as soon as the status indicator changes from flashing to
permanently lit.
