ECU LABEL INFORMATION

A label
is affixed to all ECUs at the time of
manufacture. View the label by opening the left engine
compartment panel, and looking at the ECU behind the
air intake boot.
NOTICE
If the label is difficult to read due to belt dust / foreign
material, clean with a dry cloth. Use of harsh cleaners
or solvents will erase the ink from the label.
The label provides the basic engine program information

Use the information printed on the label to verify the ECU
is installed on the correct vehicle, the fuel injector
harness color bands match, and the oil pump's offset
number matches.

If the fuel injectors are replaced during service to parts
with different color bands, the ECU must be set to the
new color code using Digital Wrench and the technician
should mark the label with the new color code.
Likewise, if the oil pump is replaced with one with a
different flow offset number, the ECU must be set to the
new oil pump flow offset and the technician should mark
the label with the new offset number.
Serious engine damage will occur if the incorrect ECU
is installed on the vehicle of if the incorrect fuel injector
color code or oil pump flow offset number are

of the ECU. This label will have the base ECU part
number on it. Use the appropriate Polaris parts manual /
online catalog to determine the correct ECU part number
for the vehicle.

ECU LOCATION / MOUNTING

If you are removing the ECU to install a new (service)
ECU, use Digital Wrench to perform the ECU
replacement procedure prior to removing the original

oil tank. To service, follow these procedures:

1. Remove the side panels.
2. Remove the hood assembly.
