7 - PREPARING TO TRANSPORT A PATIENT

7.5 - Deploying Cross-Strap Harness

Transfer the patient onto the trolley and position the patient with
their head on the headrest.
Extend the length of the straps according to the patient size using
the adjustment buckle on the upper part of each strap.
Take one of the Crossover straps (red or blue) and cross it over the
patient's body, clipping it into the buckle with the corresponding
same-coloured strap on the other side of the trolley.

Repeat the same for the other Crossover strap

Repeat the same for the other Crossover strap and then adjust
the length of straps using the adjust buckles so the Cross-Strap
harness holds the patient in position with no slack in the straps.
Feed the rear strap through the adjust buckle to shorten, feed
front strap to lengthen. Ensure the metal tri-glide at end of strap
is not stuck through slot in top of backrest when adjusting strap
length, which may prevent the length from being adjusted

Adjust length of strap to ensure Crossover straps are
securely holding the patient
Buckle up the black leg strap and tighten accordingly. Patient is
now ready to be transported.
