7. De-Icing
The de-icing cycles allows the fans to run at
full speed for a specifi ed amount of time to
prevent them from freezing in winter.
If an outdoor temperature sensor is hooked
up to the controller, the de-icing cycles are
only activated when the outside temperature
drops below a user-defi ned temperature. If
no outdoor temperature sensor is used, the
de-icing cycles are only activated when the
current ventilation stage is below the "Stop
Stage". Selected fans need to de-ice one at a
time evenly throughout the total cycle time.
1. Select:
» START / STOP TEMPS
» 13. De-Icing
*De-Icing must be enabled in the installation menu
for it to be displayed in the Start/Stop menu
*De-icing can only be performed on the two vari-
ables and the fi rst six relays
2. Set the following parameters:
De-icing status — The current status of the
De-Icing option. There are 10 status possibili-
ties: Off/- -/V1/V2/R1 to R6. During the off
time, - - is displayed. If de-icing is disabled
Off is displayed.
Cycle time — The selected fans de-ice one
at a time throughout the total cycle time.
The cycle time ranges from 1 to 60 minutes.
When an output is currently being de-iced,
an abbreviation (V1 to R6) of the output is
displayed.
On time (default 15 seconds) — Ranges from
15 to 120 seconds. This is the On time for
any output to de-ice.
Off time— Read only parameter. The value
is recalculated when the cycle time, on time,
or the number of de-iced outputs changes.
Start T (default 10 °F) and Stop T (default
30 °F)— You can confi gure these parameters.
They can only be used if an outdoor tem-
perature probe is hooked up to the controller.
The de-icing cycle begins when the outdoor
temperature is below the start temperature
and stops when outdoor temperature is
above the stop temperature. You can set any
temperature within the range which varies

between -40 °F and 120 °F(-40 °C to 48.9
°C). * Parameters are only available if an outdoor
temperature probe is being used.
Stop at Stage (default 2)— The de-icing is
disabled when fan stage reaches or goes
higher than the de-icing stop stage, with
outside temperature probe installed or not.
Stop Others? (default No)— If No is selected,
the running fans will keep running during the
de-icing on time. If Yes is selected, every
other stage fan stops when a stage fan is
de-iced.
Relay 1 to Relay 6, Variable 1 and Variable 2
(default off)— If Off is selected, the specifi c
output will not be de-iced. If On is selected,
the specifi c output will be de-iced during its
de-icing on time.
