Installing the Batteries
Insert four AA batteries as indicated by the diagram located on the
inside of the battery compartment. The V
to operate with either alkaline or NiCd rechargeable batteries. Battery
life will be shorter if NiCd batteries are used. Carbon-zinc batteries are
not recommended because of the danger of battery acid leakage.

Using the Optional AC Adapter
When using the AC adapter, the batteries (if installed) will be bypassed.
The AC adapter is not a battery charger.
Selecting the Display Units

Using The Telescoping Probe
The telescoping probe contains the velocity, temperature, and humidity
sensors (humidity sensor, Models 8386 and 8386A only). The probe can be
used either mounted to the V
