4.3 LED Diagnostics

The front panel of the CVB module contains four status display LEDs: two green
(ST and LA), one red (SE) and one yellow (UE). You can detect the status of the CVB
module by looking at this status display LEDs.

During normal operation, there should be only green LEDs ON the system. Following
diagrams shows CVB LED states and what you can diagnose from them.
Normal power-up sequence
During the normal power up of the CVB module (for further information refer to 3.2.2:
Checking the module on page 13) the following sequence of the LEDs is seen (figure
2 below).
Red SE LED is lit immediately there is power available on module.
Green ST LED and yellow UE led are lit when hardware is initialised.
Yellow UE LED is unlit when firmware is ready to run.
Red SE LED unlits when self tests are passed.
Green LA LED indicates bus activity when system is fully configured and running.

Self test fails
In case the module's self test fails (for further information refer to chapter 4.4: Power
up self tests) the following LED sequences can be seen on the CVB module:
Red SE LED is constantly lit.
Green ST LED lits and unlits repeatedly as system restart.
Yellow UE LED blinks (1-5 times) in case of a failure:
ONE blink = Memory selftest failure
THREE blinks = Internal logic selftest failure
FIVE blinks = Internal version conflicts .
