DP-4X DIGITAL CONVERGENCE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT:
Remote MUST BE IN Digital
Convergence Adjustment Mode.
NOTE: If only minor conver-
gence adjustments are neces-
sary, the Overlay Jig is not nec-
essary. Use one color that looks
the best as the reference and
align the other two colors to that
reference. Do not Clear Data
and Write to ROM. This would
cause a need to do a complete
Digital Convergence Alignment.
CONVERGENCE POINT
ADJUSTMENT: (Minor)
Adjustment Preparation:
1) Position Adjustment should
have been completed.
2) Use the following Keys to
select a color to adjust.
•
INFO : GREEN
•
0 : RED
•
INPUTS : BLUE
3) Use 4, 5, 6 and 2 to move
the Adjustment Point.
•
4 Left
•
5 Down
•
6 Right
•
2 Up.
Note: This Chassis allows the
Technician to move the adjust-
ment point either counter clock-
wise or clockwise on adjustment
point at a time.
•
Clockwise press the
Channel Down
•
Counter Clockwise
press the Channel Up
Adjustment Procedure:
1) Use the Thumbstick to make
an adjustment at the adjust-
ment point.
DP-4X New Remote Controls. (CLU-3842WL or CLU-4341UG2) The Remotes must be placed into *DCAM (See Instruction
Page 08-18) before using them for Digital Convergence adjustments.
*DCAM = Digital Convergence Adjustment Mode.
2) Three adjustment stopping
point modes are available.
•
3X3 Mode Press INFO
key 5 times. (This can
only be entered if RAM
was cleared).
•
9 Stopping Points
•
5X7 Mode Press 0 key
5 times.
•
35 Stopping Points
•
13X9 Mode Press
INPUTS key 5 times.
•
117 Stopping Points
3) For Minor Touch Ups the
13X9 mode is all that is nec-
essary.
•
NOTE: If you have S-
Distortion, use the 5X7
mode first then the
13X9 mode.
4) For a Complete Conver-
gence Adjustment, start in
the 3X3 mode.
5) Remember to Calculate of-
ten. This makes internal ad-
justment within the DCU
between adjustment points.
To Calculate press the
GUIDE button.
After Adjustments are com-
plete:
6) SAVE the data. To SAVE
press the ASPECT button
two times.
•
First Press "Write to
ROM" appears on the
screen as a warning
message.
•
Second Press writing to
ROM takes place.
Screen goes black for
several seconds. After
writing is complete
Green Dots will appear
showing that the write
process was successful.
7) Press the Volume Down
wheel (MUTE) to return to
the DCU Grid.
8) INITIALIZE THE
SENSORS:
To initialize the sensors
press the ASPECT button
one time. Then press the
"Stop"
button.
•
With the Press of
ASPECT "Write to
ROM" appears on the
screen as a warning
message.
•
Pressing the Stop
button the begins the
Sensor Initialization
process. A group of
colored light patterns
appear on the screen.
After initialization is
complete Green Dots
will appear showing that
the process was
successful.
9) Press the Volume Down
wheel (MUTE) to return to
the DCU Grid.
10) Press the Service Only
switch on the Deflection/
Convergence PWB to return
to normal mode.
11) Power off the set.
Convergence adjustment
complete.
NOTE: If a complete adjustment
is necessary, then an Overlay
Grid is necessary. Please see
the following two pages
dependant upon the screen size
being adjusted.
