SYMPTOM
Hay conditioner rolls will not turn.
Auger is excessively end-feeding hay
to conditioner rolls.

TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
Obstruction or wad in
conditioner rolls.
Drive belt too loose.
Crop is not being distributed
evenly to conditioner.
Crop is not being distributed

Excessive intermesh of hay
conditioner rolls.
Insufficient intermesh of hay
conditioner rolls.
Windrow forming shields
improperly positioned for
desired width.
Unclean cutting due to sickles
and/or guards excessively worn.
Sickle hold-downs incorrectly
set causing poor cutting.
Excessive dirt build-up in front
of auger and along stripper
bars.
Reel not clearing crop off of
sickle.
Crop hesitating on auger pans
in front of auger, especially in
short crops.
Excessive clearance between
auger and stripper bars
Conditioner rolls set too close

SOLUTION
Turn mechanism in reverse and
remove wad.
Tighten conditioner belt.
Remove auger flighting deflectors.
Remove outboard sets of rubber
fingers on auger.
Install longer "L" channel front
strippers.
Install center stripper extensions.
Reposition auger for closest
clearance to front and center stripper
bars.
Install outboard finger assemblies
mounted to auger.
Install shorter "C" channel front
strippers.
Remove center stripper bar
extensions.
Install auger flighting deflectors.
Reduce auger speed.
Reduce intermesh of rolls.
Increase intermesh of rolls.
Position shields to width desired.
For swath widths wider than 72"
(1830 mm) install deflector fins on
forming shield top cover.
Replace sickles and guards.
Adjust hold-downs.
Remove dirt accumulation in auger
pans to clear stripper bars. Increase
header flotation and reduce guard
angle to prevent dirt being carried
into header.
Move reel down, closer to sickle.
Move reel down, closer to knife and
pan.
Move auger down and rearward for
close clearance (1/8" [3 mm]) to front
and center stripper bars
Increase clearance between rolls.
