SYMPTOM
Excessive header vibration.

TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
Soil build-up on conditioner
rolls.
Sickle not operating at
recommended speed.
Loose or worn sickle head pin
or drive arm.
Excessive worn knife section
or guards.
Loose sickle drive belt.
Dull or broken sickle sections.
Bent or broken guards.
Improper sickle hold-down
adjustment.
Reel fingers not lifting crop
properly ahead of sickle.
Header float too heavy.
Mud or dirt build-up on
cutterbar.
Ineffective cutting of crop.
Reel speed too fast.
Reel position does not suit
conditions.
Lean bar not leaning crop
away from reel.
Reel speed too fast.
Incorrect reel position.
Dirt build up to auger stripper
bars.

SOLUTION
Remove soil build-up
Check engine speed of windrower.
Tighten or replace parts.
Replace sickle.
Adjust belt tension.
Replace.
Align or replace.
Adjust hold-down so sickle is held
against guard cutting surface.
Increase finger pitch
aggressiveness.
Adjust float springs for lighter float.
Raise cutterbar by lowering skid
shoes or gauge rollers.
Flatten header angle.
Adjust float springs for lighter float.
Install stub guards and set hold
downs for close clearance.
Reduce speed of reel to allow
weedy crops to feed into auger
properly.
Position reel downward as close
as possible to knife and pan.
In tall crops, install lean bar
extensions (part of tall crop kit).
Reduce reel speed so crop will not
carry over top of reel. Reel should
turn just enough faster than
ground travel so the crop feeds up
auger pan and into auger.
Position reel rearward, as close as
possible to auger and downward
as close as possible to knife and
pan.
Clean out dirt accumulation at
auger strippers.
