9.4 Decimation (monochrome cameras)

Decimation reduces the number of pixels in y-direction. Decimation in y-direction transfers

row only and directly results in reduced read-out time and higher frame rate
respectively.
Decimation can also be used together with ROI or MROI. In this case every ROI
should have a height that is a multiple of the decimation setting. E.g. if decima-
tion=3, then the height of every ROI should be a multiple of 3.
Fig. 9.4 shows decimation on the full image. The rows that will be read out are marked by red
