3. BIOS Setup Utility
The screen allows you to configure the system based on the specific features of the
installed chipset. This chipset manages bus speeds and access to system memory
resources, such as DRAM and the external cache. The default settings have been
chosen because they provide the best operating conditions for your system. Do not
reset these values unless you understand the consequences of your changes.
SDRAM CAS Latency Time
This option specifies the number of SCLKs between the time when the Read com-
mand is sampled by DRAM and the Whitney Sample reads data from SDRAM. The
available options for SDRAM CAS Latency Time are : [2] [3].
SDRAM Cycle Time Tras/Trc
This option specifies the length of the DRAM cycle time in SCLKs. The available
options for SDRAM Cycle Time Tras/Trc are : [6/8] [5/7].
SDRAM RAS-to-CAS Delay
This option specifies the length of the delay inserted between the RAS and CAS
signals of the DRAM system memory access cycle if SDRAM is installed. The avail-
able options for SDRAM RAS-to-CAS Delay are : [3] [2].
SDRAM RAS Precharge Time
This option specifies the length of the RAS precharge part of the DRAM system
memory access cycle when SDRAM system memory is installed in this system. The
available options for SDRAM RAS Precharge Time are : [3] [2].
