Checking the fork legs

Main work
–
Clamp the tap compression in a bench vise using soft jaws.
–
Remove nut
–
Remove the spring.
–
Remove washer

Remove piston
–
Remove shim stack

–
Extract the tap compression.
–
Remove O-ring

Condition
Fork dismantled.
–
Check the inner tube and the axle clamp for damage.
» If damage is found:
–
Replace the inner tube.

–
Measure the external diameter of the inner tube in several places.

» If the measured value is less than the specified value:
–
Replace the inner tube.
