Issue
The shock cannot be inflated (air
escapes immediately when the
pump is unscrewed).
The pressure indicated on the
pressure gauge rises rapidly while
pumping.
Shock has noticeable play at the
spherical bearings / DU bushings.
Loss of oil at the oil chamber
(noticeable when the air chamber
is removed).
Oil sprays out of the valve while
deflating the air chamber.
Noise while compressing the
shock after about 10 mm of the
stroke.
Clacking noise when
compressing.
Shock squeaks while riding, when
the shock gets hot.
Shock gets hot while riding.

Reason
Valve or valve insert of the shock
is damaged.
Leakage.
Valve does not open.
Wrong mounting hardware,
incorrect tightened screws or
wear.
Sealings are at their wear limits.
Normal sound of the air balance between the positive and the negative
air chamber.
Defective lockout cap.
IFP not in correct position.
Wiper seal is dry.
The shock can get very hot on long downhills. This does not affect the
performance of the shock.
Solution
Change or retighten the valve
inserts (max. 0.4 Nm).
Check in a water bath where the
shock is leaking. Contact your
dealer or a DT Swiss Service
Center to solve the problem.
Check the positioning of the pump
on the shock or change the pump.
Check whether the correct
mounting hardware was used or
the screws are tightened correctly.
If necessary, replace ball joints /
DU bushings (see "5. Changing the
spherical bearings" on page 22
or "4. Replacing DU bushings" on
page 17).
