Chapter 3 Local Management - Cabletron Systems DELHF-UA User Manual

This chapter provides instructions on configuring the DELHF-UA to
operate in full duplex FDDI mode, viewing DELHF-UA FDDI statistics,
translating specific FDDI frame types to specific Ethernet frame types
and to viewing the FDDI ring topology using Local Management.
When installed, the DELHF-UA provides additional Local
Management features. These features are accessed by
entering Local Management of the host interface module or
standalone hub. Refer to the host device User's Guide to
establish a Local Management connection.
Make sure that the following requirements have been met before
configuring the DELHF-UA through Local Management:
• At least one FPIM is installed in the DELHF-UA.
• The DELHF-UA is installed in the host interface module or standalone
hub.
• The device is up and running.
• A Local Management terminal is properly configured and connected
to the host interface module or standalone hub in which the
DELHF-UA resides.
If the DELHF-UA is being configured to operate in full duplex
mode, two FPIMs must be installed before proceeding.
To view DELHF-UA FDDI statistics and ring topology, the
DELHF-UA must be connected to the FDDI ring.
