Note
(11) Insert a slotted screwdriver diagonally at the periphery of the flange of the mechanical cover
(111-3). Using this as a lever, push the entire cartridge mechanical seal (111) upward.
(12) When the cartridge mechanical seal (111) has been moved to an extent, remove it by hand
from the shaft.
(13) Removal of the cartridge mechanical seal (111) is then complete.

1. Reassembly

Assembly is performed in the reverse order of disassembly. Note the following points however.
Note
(1) Coat the shaft (31), the inside of the cartridge sleeve, and the O-rings at the mechanical
cover (111-3) outside with propylene glycol, etc. Also, if there is any rust or scale adhering to
the shaft (31), remove it in advance with sandpaper, etc.
Note
(2) Insert the cartridge mechanical seal (111) into the shaft.
(3) Secure the mechanical cover (111-3) with the hexagon socket head bolts (a total of 4 bolts
120-3).
(4) Install the motor (800) to the pump. (4.0 kW or less models)
Note
(5) Insert the pin (131-1) into the shaft (31).
(6) Lift the shaft (31) slightly with the pin (131-1), and install the coupling (140).
(7) Install the coupling (140), and fasten the couplings with the hexagon socket head bolts (a
total of 4 bolts 120-6).
Note
When using sandpaper, use #400 or finer to prevent harmful scratching of
the shaft. Also, protect the equipment to prevent dust from entering inside
the cartridge sleeve.
Strict airtight inspections are necessary in assembly of the cartridge
mechanical seal. Therefore, ask EBARA to perform this work.
Replace the O-ring with new one during re-assembly.
Be careful not to get debris, dust or fingerprints on the surface of the
mechanical seal's sliding faces.
When using sandpaper, use #400 or finer to prevent harmful scratching of
the shaft. Also, protect the equipment to prevent dust from entering inside
the pump.
The motor (800) should be installed using a hoist or other safe measures.
Install the coupling in the following position.
Model of 4.0kW or less : End of motor shaft touch end of pump shaft
Model of 5.5kW or more : End of motor shaft touch step of the coupling
Fasten the hexagon socket head bolts (120-6) uniformly such that the
