See the following table for the recommended bearing change intervals based on the bearing
versions at the average operating speed:

Note
Difficult operating conditions in operation at the maximum speed
Under the following difficult operating conditions, the bearing replacement intervals are
reduced by up to 50%:
• Large vibrations and shocks
• Frequent reversing operations

Bearing lifetime

The bearing lifetime is limited by the material fatigue (fatigue service life) and/or lubrication
failure (grease service life). The fatigue lifetime (statistical bearing lifetime) mainly depends
on the mechanical load. For more information on the correlation, see Section "Radial and
axial force diagrams (Page 42)". The values are determined according to ISO 281.
The grease lifetime is mainly dependent on the bearing size, speed, temperature as well as
vibration load.
The grease lifetime can be extended especially by favorable operating conditions, for
example, low or average speed, low bearing temperature, and low radial force or vibration
load.
The grease lifetime can be reduced for difficult operating conditions and when motors are
mounted vertically.
Lifetime lubrication
Note
For 1PH3 motors, only lifetime lubrication but no relubrication is required during the bearing
lifetime. In this case, the grease lifetime is harmonized with the bearing lifetime.
