3.11 Vibration response
Alignment accuracy
Proceed through the following steps to align the motor:
1. Align the motor with coupling outputs in such a manner that the center lines of the shafts
are parallel with no offset. This ensures that no additional force affects the bearings of the
shafts during operation.
2. Perform fine adjustments with shims under all the motor feet.

Flywheels

Flywheels with a high mass, which are rigidly mounted to the end of the motor shaft, modify
the vibration characteristics of the motor and limit the critical rotational frequencies of the
motor within the lower speed ranges.
When external components are directly mounted onto the motor shaft, you are
recommended to balance the overall system precisely in order to minimize/avoid exciting
vibration.
Operation in the resonance range must be avoided.
