3.12 Vibration severity

If appreciable vibration excitation at a frequency of over 2000 Hz, for example, gear teeth
meshing frequency, can be expected, the measurement range must be adapted accordingly.
This does not alter the maximum permissible vibration values.
Note
Avoiding continuous operations at natural frequencies
Uninterrupted duty at natural frequencies of the installed/mounted system should be
avoided, as this generally leads to the permissible vibration values being exceeded and the
system being damaged. To reduce vibration, you are recommended to support flanged-
mounted motors at the NDE.
Note
Measuring vibration values according to the relevant directives
Vibration must be analyzed and measured, for example, measuring points, according to
ISO 10816-3.

Vibration severity
The 1PH3 motors are provided with the following vibration qualities in accordance with
Siemens/EN 60034-14 (IEC 60034-14):
Vibration quality
S
SR
Note
The vibration quality depending on the bearing is encoded in the article number. For more
information, see Chapter "Motor rating plate (Page 22)".
The vibration values indicated refer only to the motor. The system vibration response
depends on the conditions at the installation location and can result in higher vibration
values of the motor.
Different applications require different bearings. As a result, a high load capacity for radial
forces is not compatible with a high speed and high vibration quality.
