CHANGE OF WATER SUPPLY
The changing or alternating from one water supply to another can have a detrimental effect on the
operation and / or life expectation of the water heater, the storage cylinder and the relief valves.
Where there is a changeover from one water supply to another, e.g. a rainwater tank supply, bore water
supply, desalinated water supply, public reticulated water supply or water brought in from another
supply, then water chemistry information should be sought from the supplier or it should be tested to
ensure the water supply meets the requirements given in these guidelines for the Rheem warranty to
apply.
AUTOMATIC CHEMICAL FEEDERS
All chemicals must be introduced and completely diluted into the water before being circulated through
the heater. High chemical concentrations will result when the pump is not running (e.g. overnight).
NOTE: High chemical concentrates from feeders that are out of adjustment will cause rapid corrosion
to the heat exchanger. Such damage is not covered under the warranty.
NOTE: Failure of a heat exchanger due to lime scale build-up on the heating surface, low pH or other
chemical imbalance is non-warrantable.
