Ethernet connection

For Ethernet connections, the imagePRESS Server supports Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) cabling for certain network
speeds.
The following network speeds are supported:
10BaseT: Category 3 or later
100BaseTX: Category 5 or later (4‑pair/8‑wire, short‑length)
1000BaseT: Category 5e or later (4‑pair/8‑wire, short‑length)

To connect to the network

1 Power off the printer and the imagePRESS Server (see
2 Connect the cable from the network to the network port (RJ-45) on the imagePRESS Server (see
on page 20).
Important: If you are concerned about information being extracted from the imagePRESS Server Ethernet
port without authorization, consider securing the Ethernet port.
3 Power on the printer.
Note: The printer must be on before you start the imagePRESS Server.
4 Power on the imagePRESS Server by moving the power switch to the ON position and then pressing the power
button.

Important: When the imagePRESS Server is in use, do not connect or disconnect the network cable
connected to the printer or disable the network functions.
