DRO COMPENSATION INSTRUCTIONS
Your new PFM X9 On-Vehicle Lathe is equipped with DRO. DRO, which stands for "Digital Run Out," combines several
features to offer you increased accuracy as well as lathe diagnostics and efficiency tracking. By checking these values
on a monthly basis, managers can track their ROI based on the machine usage. Pro-Cut Service Technicians can also
check the accuracy of the machine over time.
The first screen that you will see when the machine is plugged in (after the computer "boots up") is the Ready Mode.
Once you initiate the run-out compensation process by pressing the START button, the "live" lateral run-out will be
displayed. In this mode, the lathe will display actual run-out, or how much the lathe is moving laterally, as recorded
in thousandths and tenths of a thousandths of an inch. To make the display easier to read at a glance, we've removed
the leading zeros from the display and simply have one digit to the left of the decimal, or the whole thousandths, and
one digit to the right of the decimal, or the tenths of a thousandth. Once the compensation cycle is complete, the final
run-out will be displayed on the screen for four minutes, or about the duration of one cut cycle. After four minutes
the screen will revert back to the READY screen.
