DES-3226S Layer 2 Fast Ethernet Switch User's Guide
config stp ports
Purpose
Used to setup STP on the port level.
Syntax
config stp ports <portlist> {cost
<value>/priority <value>/state
[enabled/disabled]
Description
This command is used to create and configure
STP for a group of ports.
Parameters
cost <value>
indicates the relative cost of forwarding
packets to the specified port list. The default
cost for a 1000 Mbps port is 4, a 100 Mbps
port is 19, and for a 10 Mbps port the default
cost is 100.
priority <value> − a numeric value between
0 and 31 that is used in determing the root
and designated port in an STP port list. The
default is 16, with 0 indicating the highest
priority.
<portlist> −
configured. The port list is specified by listing
the lowest switch number and the beginning
port number on that switch, separated by a
colon. Then highest switch number, and the
highest port number of the range (also
separeted by a colon) are specified.

seperated by a dash. For example, 1:3 would
specify switch number 1, port 3. 2:4 specifies
switch number 2, port 4. 1:3-2:4 specifies all
