Operating manual Energy storage solutions
V1.3DE/EN
The Small Energy Storage Unit (KES) is used to store brake energy from applications
(drives with frequency converter or servo drive). The KES does not need its own po-
wer supply. It is possible to operate several KES units in parallel to increase the ma-
ximum power. Optional small extension modules (KEMs) can also be used to increase
the amount of energy stored.
The KES is supplied according to customer specifications and may only be operated
when these specifications are met.
The Small Energy Supply Unit (KEV) is used to store brake energy from applications
(frequency converters or servo drives) and, independently from the on-board power
supply, to supply an intermediate DC circuit with electrical power. The KEV does not
need its own power supply. It is possible to operate several KEV units in parallel to
increase the maximum power. Optional small extension modules (KEMs) can also be
used to increase the amount of energy stored.
The KEV is supplied according to customer specifications and may only be operated
when these specifications are met.
The Small Expansion Module (KEM) is connected to the dynamic Energy storage so-
lutions (KES, KEK, KEV) and increases its energy storage capacity.
If several small Energy storage solutionss are connected in parallel, the additional
KEMs must be distributed symmetrically.
Protective devices (e.g. covers) may not be removed.
The Energy storage solutions is to be used within electrical cabinets in the industrial
area. Operation in areas at risk of explosion is prohibited.
Unauthorised modifications are prohibited.
Unauthorised modifications will invalidate all claims under warranty and liability.
Repairs may only be undertaken by the manufacturer.
