8.4 Operation Failures

Phenomenon
Keys not functioning
When a key is pressed, no
tone is heard.
Hoarse or odd sound from
loudspeaker.

8.5 Recorder Failures

Phenomenon
No paper advances.
The "Check paper" alarm
message appeared on the
screen, but the drawer is not
empty.
Blank,
blurry
or
traces.
Possible Cause
Bad key board connection.
Key board is damaged.
Loudspeaker or wire has a
failure.
Loudspeaker defective.
Main
defective.
Possible Cause
No paper in the drawer.
Paper drawer is open.
Paper jam.
Print
controlling
defective.
Recorder connection failure.
Gear assembly defective.
Main
defective.
Paper sensor dirty.
Paper sensor defective.
The paper drawer is not
closed properly.
Paper
is
incorrect
loaded.
The print head adjusting
nuts are lopsided.
Print head defective.
Improper paper settings of
the monitor.
Solution
Check key board wire.
Replace the key board.
Replace the loudspeaker or the wire.
Replace the loudspeaker.

Solution
Load paper and close the drawer.
Close the drawer.
Open the drawer and remove the
paper jam. Re-load paper then close
the drawer.

Replace the print controlling board.
Check all the connectors.
Replace the gear assembly.

Clean the paper sensor with a dry
clean cloth.
Replace the paper sensor.
Push the drawer back in position.
