b) Start-Up

The manual for the remote control system is included separately. Always observe all safety notes included
in it as well as any additional information!
• Only use suitable driving batteries for the vehicle. Never operate the speed controller through a power unit, not even
for test purposes.
This vehicle is exclusively suitable for use with NiMH rechargeable batteries with 6 cells (nominal voltage
of driving battery 7.2V) or LiPo rechargeable batteries with 2 cells (nominal voltage of driving battery 7.4V).
When using a drive battery with more cells, there is a danger of fire from overheating of the speed control-
ler. Apart from this, the vehicle's drive will be overloaded and damaged by this (e.g. differential). Loss of
guarantee/warranty!
The speed controller is pre-set for a NiMH/ battery with 6 cells. If you want to connect a 2-cell LiPo battery,
you have to reprogram the speed controller with the optionally available programming card! Only then will
the undervoltage protection for LiPo-batteries (3.0 V per cell) be activated!
• Always switch on the receiver first before operating the vehicle. Only then can the driving battery of the car be
connected with the speed controller and the speed controller be switched on. Otherwise, the vehicle might show
unpredictable responses!
Place the vehicle on an appropriate surface before connecting the driving battery, so that the wheels can
turn freely.
Check the position of the on/off switch of the speed controller and place it in the "OFF" position (switched
off).
Switch on the transmitter if you haven't done it already. Check its function (e.g. operation display of the
transmitter).
Put the trimming for the throttle/brake function at the transmitter into the centre position.
Now connect a fully charged 6-cell NiMH driving battery to the speed controller.
Important: As already indicated above, a 2-cell LiPo-battery (rated voltage 7.4 V) must only be used after
you have reprogrammed the speed controller with the optional programming card (not included in the
delivery, must be ordered separately).
Hold the vehicle, but do not reach into the drive unit. There is a risk of serious injury! Never hold the vehicle
by its wheels!
Only then switch on the speed controller (switch position e.g. labelled "ON").
• Check that the vehicle reacts to remote control commands as expected (steering and drive) before taking it from the
support and placing it on the ground with its wheels.
