Differences in Wireless Communications
Settings
There are two 802.11 radios available for your printer. Some wireless
communications settings differ depending on which radio is
installed. To determine which radio is installed, see
Which Radio Is Installed in Your Printer" on page

Specifies the security method the
printer uses to grant access to the
wireless network:
Open (default)
Shared
Auto
Not Supported
If you select Adhoc as the
NETWORK TYPE, specifies the
channel (from 1 through 14) over
which to transfer data.
Default: 1
For PEAP, TTLS, or EAP-FAST
security, allows you to select the
password credentials (protocol) or
your token card ID for
authentication:
MSCHAPv2 (default)
PAP (TTLS only)
EAP/MSCHAPv2
EAP/MD5
EAP/GTC

Specifies the security method the
printer uses to grant access to the
wireless network.
The only supported method is
Open.
Configures the band in which the
radio needs to be configured:
2.4 GHz (default)
5 GHz
If you select DIRECT as the MODE,
specifies the channel (based on the
.REGION and BAND settings) over
which to transfer data.
Default: 1 (DIRECT) for 2.4 GHz,
36 for 5 GHz
For LEAP, PEAP, TTLS, or EAP-
FAST security, allows you to select
the password credentials (protocol)
or your token card ID for
authentication:
MSCHAPv2 (default,
automatically set when
EAP_TYPE is set to TTLS)
EAP/MSCHAPv2 (automatically
set when EAP_TYPE is set to
PEAP)
PAP (TTLS only)
