DANGER
Risk of suffocation. The microfluidic module of the BioLector XT instrument can be
operated with nitrogen in addition to compressed air. This can lead to a reduction
in the proportion of atmospheric oxygen in your laboratory. If you operate the
microfluidic module with nitrogen, check the flow rate display of the valve control
unit regularly. If this constantly displays the value "HHH" while the microtiter
plate is clamped, a leakage within the nitrogen supply is likely. This may cause
more nitrogen than usual to be released into the ambient air. If this occurs, stop
the experiment, close all gas supply lines and
DANGER
Risk of explosion. The BioLector XT instrument contains parts that can serve as a
potential source of ignition.
• Never place the instrument in or around flammable or explosive substances.
• It is prohibited to create explosive atmospheres inside the incubation
chamber or the gassing lid.
• Analyze your cultivation process for possible generation of flammable or
explosive substances before you carry it out.
• Do not use the BioLector XT instrument with flammable or explosive
substances.
• Switch off the BioLector XT instrument and gas supply lines at least 15
minutes before possible cleaning to allow possible ignition sources to cool
down.
• Use only cleaning agents with volatile components.
• After cleaning, leave the lid of the incubation chamber open for at least 30
minutes before starting a new protocol.
DANGER
Risk of fire. Interaction with high oxygen concentrations, or lubricants can cause
spontaneous ignition. Ensure that all components in contact with oxygen
concentrations greater than 23% are cleaned and free of oils and greases. Always
use gloves when working with microtiter places and the BioLector XT instrument.
DANGER
Risk of suffocation, poisoning, fire, or explosion. Excessive overpressure can
damage components and release gases into the atmosphere. Never exceed the
gas pressures specified, see CHAPTER 1, Instrument Specifications of the
instrument's Instructions for Use manual.
