The following functions are available:
• Function #1, green LED, one short flash: Drive function
In this settings menu the speed controller unit can be switched between „forwards/brake", „forwards/brake/reverse"
and „forwards/reverse".
If the setting „forwards/brake" is selected (red LED flashes once), reverse driving is switched off.
• Function #2, green LED, two short flashes: Motorbrake
If you take back the throttle at the transmitter or move back the throttle/brake lever into the neutral position, the
vehicle will slow down automatically. The effect is exactly like the motor braking effect that appears in a „real" car if
you release the gas pedal without stepping on the brake.
A standard electric motor (with brushes/coals) - has a certain amount of braking strength due to the magnets it
contains – in a brushless electric motor, however, it is much lower. The motor brake function can therefore be used
to simulate the braking strength of a traditional electric motor. The strength of the braking effect can be set (the
higher the set value, the stronger the motor braking function effect).
• Function #3, green LED, three short flashes: Undervoltage protection
If LiPo rechargeable batteries are used, then you must ensure that the low-voltage protection is activated (we
recommend 3.0 V per cell).
When using LiPo rechargeable batteries, never drive without undervoltage protection. Without undervoltage
protection, LiPo batteries can be damaged in case of deep discharge.
It is also important that the function #12 (LiPo cell number) is configured correctly.
When LiPo rechargeable batteries are used, we recommend programming a fixed number of LiPo cells so
that the undervoltage protection will work properly (do not set function #12 to „Auto").
When „Auto" is selected (basic factory setting), the speed controller calculates the number of cells
automatically from the battery voltage measured at start-up. When the driving batteries that are connected
are not fully charged, this will lead to a wrong number of cells!
When the speed controller is switched on, green LED flashes and the motor beeps to indicate the number
of cells recognised. Observe chapter 8. h).
a) Voltage below 8.8 V -> 2-cell LiPo driving battery
b) Voltage between 8.8 and 17.6 V -> 4-cell driving battery
c) Voltage above 17.6 V -> 6-cell driving battery (correct for this vehicle)
If, during operation, the battery voltage undercuts the value selected for more than 2 seconds, the motor is switched
off to protect the battery. In addition to this, the red LED flashes (flash-order: „•- •- •- •- •- •-").
