5.11 How to Get the Serial No. in Storage Systems
There are different situations, when it is presupposed to know the serial number of your system, e.g. adding a
new license key or sending back the system in case of reclamation. This document describes three different
methods to get the serial number of ETERNUS LT20 S2, ETERNUS LT40 S2 and ETERNUS LT60 S2 devices.
Procedure

Read the serial number from the flap on the rear of the device
In the following picture you see the flap on the rear of the device. If you pull it out, you will find the
serial number on it.

Please make sure that the serial number starts with "LTDE ...". If the serial number starts with "LS ...",
it is a spare part of the technical service. In this case you get the original serial number of the system
as described under point
