5.4.6. MAX Jitter in Milliseconds

This setting refers to the Packet Re-Sequencer and describes the maximum jitter in mil-
liseconds that the re-sequencer can generate. This value MUST always be at least 50ms
less than the size of the de-jitter buffer in the addressed decoder. The re-sequencer
does not cause any additional latency; it uses the presence of the buffer in the decoder.
This setting only affects receive streams. Both the server and the client mode offer this
setting because the connection can be bi-directional (e.g., for audio communication or
video conferencing).

5.4.7. VPN Base Port

Base Port defines the first UDP destination port to be used for the VPN tunnel connec-
tion. At least seven more ports must be opened following the base port.

You must open the ports at the gateway of the Internet where your VPN Server is
connected.
For example, if the base port shall be 5000, you must open the following ports up to
port 5007. You can enter any port number that suits your network requirements.

5.4.8. VPN Destination

These are the public destination addresses to your VPN Server.
We recommend connecting the VPN server to two different Internet gateways in order
to optimize the use of two network paths. You can also use only one address as the
destination address. However, you lose the redundancy on the physical level of the
network from a certain merging point in the wired Internet.
If you enter only one address, the VPN tunnel will be established to this one destination
address.
5.4.9. Advanced – Masquerading
IP Masquerade can be left disabled where there is only one device attached to a Mobile
SureStreamer VPN LAN interface, and the traffic will not be further routed at the server
end of the tunnel.
After you have completed the settings for the client, save them, and continue with
the VPN server settings on the SureStreamer at your studio endpoint.

Saving the configuration of the VPN settings is a rather complex operation in the
Mobile SureStreamer. We recommend avoiding further inputs on the GUI for a few
moments until the CPU load is back to normal.
