Quick Start Tutorial: APT Mobile SureStreamer Safety Precautions This equipment complies with international mechanical and electrical standards. To maintain this com- pliance, as well as to ensure proper and safe working conditions and avoid electrical shocks and fire hazards, you must comply with the following recommendations: ...
4. 2x Network cables connecting the SureStreamer unit to the Modems 5. 1x Network cable connecting the SureStreamer unit to the WiFi Router 6. 1x Network cable + 1 RJ45 adapter ready to connect the SureStreamer unit to your media streamer 7.
2.0 System Wiring and Modem Preparation 2.1. Mobile SureStreamer Wiring (for information only) The Mobile SureStreamer consists of several components that are pre-wired as follows. The diagram below may help you if you need to replace components or change the standard wiring.
Quick Start Tutorial: APT Mobile SureStreamer 2.2. Preparing the System 2.2.1. Setting up the Modems The modems are pre-configured and will automatically connect* to your provider's network when the SIM cards are inserted, and the battery is connected. The modems are located in the bag.
When the battery is sufficiently charged, and the voltage selection LED shows 12VDC, connect the Mobile SureStreamer to the battery. Inside the battery box is the connec- tion cable that you connect to the output socket of the battery (blue arrow on image).
The WIFI router assigns an IP address to your PC in the range of 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.105 If you have several Mobile SureStreamer, turn them on one at a time to identify them properly the first time. 2.2.4. Test the Modem Connection If the modems are successfully connected to the networks, you have Internet access via the WIFI network.
Confirm the warning regarding the default credentials. Click on "Connection Configuration" Figure 2-5 Shows the status page of the mobile SureStreamer Clicking on the Connection Configuration link on the status page leads to the page where you can manage and generate profiles.
Quick Start Tutorial: APT Mobile SureStreamer 3.0 Getting Started Depending on the type of content you want to transmit with the SureStreamer, there are two transfer modes available. The configurations for both modes are different, so they are described in separate chapters.
This is the LAN port of the Mobile SureStreamer. Connect your IP Codec to it. Figure 4-1 shows the physical connection of your Codec to the Mobile SureStreamer Your Codec's IP address needs to be in the range 192.168.102.xxx / subnet mask 255.255.255.0.
Chose a Connection Template Select the "Bi-directional Dialer" template (#100) suitable for the Mobile SureStreamer in the field and click on "Profiles/Save as…" to create a copy of it. We rename this copy to "My Profile." A profile consists of multiple streams.
The diagram also shows the streams which you need to modify, the LAN stream (stream #0) between the Codec and the Mobile SureStreamer, and four WAN streams (streams #1 to #4) routed via the air interfaces (modems) to your Codec at the end- point.
IP port 5004 is set. In case your Codec does not support this IP port (5004), you can change the port of stream #0 on the Mobile SureStreamer accord- ingly. Figure 4-5 highlights the LAN stream (#0) between the Codec and the SureStreamer on the streams table Page 15...
Page 16
Quick Start Tutorial: APT Mobile SureStreamer Modify the LAN Stream (continued) In the LAN stream, no or very few parameters need to be changed. Follow the recommendations. Figure 4-6 shows the default setting of the LAN stream Notes:________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________...
Quick Start Tutorial: APT Mobile SureStreamer 4.3.3. Modify the WAN Streams WAN Streams #1 to #4 The changes described below must be performed on all four WAN streams. Follow the recommendations. Figure 4-7 shows the configuration of the WAN streams.
(ISP). If the Studio Gateway Router has a static IP address, you can use it as the destina- tion address in the Mobile SureStreamer. If the IP address is assigned dynamically, then we recommend that you set up hostnames for your studio codec using a Dynamic DNS service.
Apply the new profile to the unit 4.4.1. Manage the Port Forwarding on your Gateway Router The streams from your Mobile SureStreamer reach your Codec in the studio through the Internet Gateway, which is your (xDSL, cable, etc.) router. If you have connected your Codec to your network in the next step, you can configure port forwarding in the Gateway Router.
Internet, you can only connect it to the Codec once. In this case, you must enter the same destination address in the Mobile SureStreamer for all four WAN streams. You can use the second, unoccupied ETH interface to manage the Codec.
Quick Start Tutorial: APT Mobile SureStreamer 4.4.3. Open the Management GUI Open your browser and enter the address: https://192.168.100.110 Log in: User: Admin; password: admin (case sensitive) The status page of the Management GUI opens. Confirm the warning regarding the default credentials.
Quick Start Tutorial: APT Mobile SureStreamer 4.4.4. Configure the Network Setting of the Codec On this page, you find all the network settings of the Codec. Also, note the page tabs on top for advanced settings. Change the IP addresses for ETH0 and ETH1 so that you can connect the Codec to the DSL/Cable Modem network(s).
Quick Start Tutorial: APT Mobile SureStreamer 4.4.5. Applying Hostnames (Dynamic DNS) You do not necessarily need to use the hostnames, but this addressing has signifi- cant advantages. The following instruction uses hostnames. Open the tab "Dynamic DNS" to enter your DDNS account and the previously regis- tered hostname.
4.4.6. Create a new Connection Profile An APT Codec with a SureStream license receives all four IP streams directly; therefore, you do not need a SureStreamer in the studio. On the Unit Status Page, click on "Connections Configuration." Figure 4-12 highlights the short cut link to the stream configuration page...
Page 25
Quick Start Tutorial: APT Mobile SureStreamer Create a new Connection Profile (continued) The profiling procedure is the same as in the Mobile SureStreamer; however, there are no templates. The screenshot shows a new profile (My Profile) that is a copy of the empty "Default Profile."...
The streams you create here are complementary to the streams in the Mobile SureStreamer. This means that you must select the same IP ports and the ETH interfac- es that correspond to the specified destination IP addresses in the Mobile SureStreamer profile.
Quick Start Tutorial: APT Mobile SureStreamer 4.4.8. Create four Bi-directional Streams First, create the four streams, as shown in the table. These streams are complementary to the streams of the Mobile SureStreamer. The numbers in parentheses correspond to the complementary WAN streams of the SureStreamer.
Quick Start Tutorial: APT Mobile SureStreamer 4.4.9. Create the Combined (Monitor) Stream The Combined Stream is a virtual stream that makes the performance of the SureStream Group visible. This stream is not needed for the transfer and, therefore, must get the IP address "null."...
4.4.10. Apply the new profile to the unit The screenshot shows a fully configured profile of the IP Codec (My Profile). This profile connects with four streams to the Mobile SureStreamer in the field. Figure 4-14 shows the configured connection profile (My Profile) You can now save the profile without activating it if you click on "Save,"...
Start the stream of your remote Codec, which is connected to the Mobile SureStreamer. As soon as the Mobile SureStreamer receives this stream (LAN), the streams to your Studio codec will be activated. If the LAN stream is not recognized by the Mobile SureStreamer, the Mobile SureStreamer will not establish the WAN streams to your studio codec.
The Devices in LAN A stream through the transparent tunnel to the IP addresses of devices in LAN B. For this to work, the ETH2 address of the local SureStreamer must be the gateway ad- dress of your connected IP device entry.
The status page of the Management GUI opens. Confirm the warning regarding the default credentials.
