Quick Start Tutorial: APT Mobile SureStreamer
5.0 SureStreamVPN
SureStreamVPN is the right choice if you want to connect your remote Codec, or other
feeders to your studio and do not use an APT Codec as your studio endpoint. The func-
tion of a SureStreamVPN connection is not bound to a specific data or transport format.
UDP and TCP transport protocols are transmitted equally.
SureStreamVPN protects your connection against packet loss and encrypts the data.
5.1. Basics of a SureStreamVPN application
The figure shows the principle of the VPN tunnel application with SureStreamVPN. The
IP devices in the respective local networks can be an audio, video, or another data
streamer.
Figure 5-1 shows the connection of two independent networks via VPN
The IP device (audio/video/data), the PC, and the LAN interface (ETH2) of the Sure-
Streamer or the Mobile SureStreamer constitute the local networks A & B. The destina-
tion address of the media streams is the IP address of the device in the opposite LAN.
The Devices in LAN A stream through the transparent tunnel to the IP addresses of
devices in LAN B.
For this to work, the ETH2 address of the local SureStreamer must be the gateway ad-
dress of your connected IP device entry.
!
Important: LAN A and LAN B must not be in the same address space.
