CLEANING THE FIREBOX AND THE ASH
DRAWER
The ash pan below the hearth must be emptied out every
day. the ash must not reach the top, as this may cause
the overheating of the cast iron grate of the hearth and
prevent the passage of air to the hearth.
In any case, it is advisable to empty out the ash pan
every day to facilitate the regular input of combustion air
into the hearth.
Before carrying out this operation make sure that the
fireplace has completely cooled and pay attention to the
possible presence of embers that may be still lit in the
ash drawer.
Attention: embers still warm may hide in the ash even
after several hours.
