Port Logging
If Port logging option is enabled, the user can let the IP serial console to search a defined keyword from the
port logging data and send an email to an administrator by Port event handling configurations. Each reaction
can be configured individually upon each keyword. Reaction can be an email delivery.
The memory buffer for port logging data are pre-allocated at the size as follows:
Port Number of IP serial console
Remark :
If the logging data grows larger than the pre-allocated size, the new data will overwrite the old data.
4.2 Connection
The IP serial console web pages provide a web-based serial port connection which enables the user to access the
serial ports without using the Telnet client program.
A Java applet is used to provide the text-based user interface to access the serial port. This Java applet supports
only Telnet in Console Server mode. The user cannot access the serial port via the web when the host mode of the
port is set to Raw TCP connection. The user is asked to enter user ID and password to access the port. Once
authenticated, the user now has access to the serial port.
Notes: In order to run this function, the system need support J2RE (Java 2 Runtime Environment) 1.5 and above,
or Sun TM JRE(Java Runtime Environment) 5.0 and above. You can get the Java Software from the website
