Moving from the power wheelchair

The following points must be followed for your own safety in order to independently
move from the seat of your power wheelchair:
>
You should be able to safely carry your own weight.
>
You should be able to push yourself off from the power wheelchair with both arms
simultaneously using the same amount of strength.
>
You should have a safe position to support yourself, one from which you cannot slip.
>
You should have practised everything often enough in the presence of another person.
>
You should consider all eventualities in case you fall on the floor and there is no one
present with you.
L
We recommend that you enlist the help of another person. However, you should
point out the dangers to this person. In all cases, discuss the implementation
process together. Never support yourself on the control panel. The power
wheelchair could be accidentally activated and start following uncontrolled
commands.
L
If you want to move to the seat of another power wheelchair, the brake lock
release lever must be set to "LOCK" (upwards) and the power wheelchair must
be switched off.
