6.5.1 STREAM STRAIGHTENERS WITH STACKED TIP NOZZLES

Turbulence though the Monsoon
Monitor is very low but stream quality
and reach can be improved with the
u s e o f t h e i n t e g r a l s t r e a m
straightener on the TFT stacked tip
nozzle. See figure 6.5.1 for the
stacked tip's integral stream
straightener friction loss.

6.5.2 STREAM STRAIGHTENERS WITH FOG NOZZLES

When using a fog nozzle it is
recommended that no stream
straightener be used since the fog
nozzle's flow path generally serves
as a stream straightener. Use of a
stream straightener with a fog nozzle
will increase the stresses on the
monitor's gear train and may lead to
premature wear.
