2 General safety instructions
The following is prohibited:
· Programming KESO Genie EX-BS with the PPGV2 in potentially explosive atmospheres.
There is a risk of explosion due to sparking in PPGV2. People could suffer life-threatening or serious
injuries.
· The use of batteries other than those defined in 3.1.2 KESO Genie EX-BS, Seite 73, under "Battery cha-
racteristics".
There is a risk of explosion due to sparking in the electronics. People could suffer life-threatening or
serious injuries.
· Use in doors on escape routes with untested door locks.
There is a risk that people will not be able to open the door in dangerous situations and will be injured
or killed.
Contact the manufacturer of the door lock and ensure that the door lock is suitable for use with the
product.
· Independent conversion, modification or repair of the product.
The product may only be used and operated under defined conditions, see 3.1.2 KESO Genie EX-BS,
Seite 73.

2.3 Specific groups of persons

· Do not let children play with the packaging material. Children can pull the packaging material over their
head and suffocate.
· Keep the uninstalled product out of reach of children. Children may swallow small parts such as batte-
ries or screws.

2.4 Installation and commissioning of the product

· Only install the product as described. There is a risk of damaging the product if it is installed incorrectly.
· Do not drop the product onto the floor, hard surfaces or objects. There is a risk that the product may be
damaged or destroyed.
2.4.1 KESO Genie BS
For safe installation of the KESO BS, observe the intended use described in 2.2.1 KESO Genie BS, Seite 66
and the environmental conditions defined in 3.1.1 KESO Genie BS, Seite 69.
Do not install KESO BS in explosive atmospheres. There is a risk of explosion due to sparking in the
electronics. Use KESO Genie EX-BS for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
