4. Log in to the software program when prompted to do so.

5. Select the green button: Start instrument
6. For the purpose of checking the safety circuits you will be prompted to open
and close the sample chamber lid. Follow the instructions on the screen.
7. You are prompted via a pull-down menu to carry out a corresponding warm-
up procedure, depending on how long the instrument has been deactivated.
You should follow this recommendation. The instrument will automatically
start up the X-ray tube and bring it to operating condition. The longer the
instrument has been deactivated, the longer the start-up process for the X-ray
tube will take.
The instrument is switched on. Stable measurement conditions are only

ensured if you are adhering to the duration of the specified warm-up phase.

Safety circuits are automatically checked after one month

If the instrument has not been switched off for one month, the software prompts
you to do so. Switch off the instrument via the key switch and turn it back on after
three seconds at the earliest. Then connect the instrument via the software. The
safety circuits are automatically checked then.
